Recipe:

  1. In a bowl, mix milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking powder.
  2. Add ghee or unsalted butter and mix well until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Gradually add milk and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  4. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, cardamom pods, rose water, and saffron. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes to make sugar syrup.
  5. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into smooth balls without any cracks.
  6. Heat oil or ghee in a pan on low-medium heat. Fry the Gulab Jamuns until golden brown.
  7. Drain and immediately soak them in warm sugar syrup for at least 1 hour.
  8. Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve warm or at room temperature.
